This is an authentic piece from the early safari-era Banana Republic line, produced shortly after the Gap acquisition when BR still focused on expedition and travel-inspired gear.
Made in the U.K. from a rare 65% wool / 35% chlorofibre blend—a material used only in the early 1980s. The shape is the classic safari-style crusher/bucket hat seen in their 1983–85 catalogs. Warm, soft, unstructured, and easy to pack.
