【HEKIUNSO - Tokuan Nomura and Hekiunso (Nanzen-ji Temple Villa, Higashiyama, Kyoto)】
By Sae Nomura; Masao Nakamura, with commentary by R. Singer
Published in 1992 by the Nomura Hekiunkai, cloth-bound hardcover with slipcase, 31 x 23 x 3 cm, 269 pages.

Hekiunso is a sukiya-style villa built by Tokushichi Nomura II, a Japanese businessman, on a 17,300-square-meter site within the grounds of Nanzen-ji Temple in Kyoto from the Taisho era to the Showa era. It is one of the villas in the Nanzen-ji Temple area.
Designed by Sutekijiro Kitamura and others, it features architecture that utilizes advanced sukiya-style techniques, and a beautiful garden created by Jihei Ogawa, a pioneer of modern Japanese gardens, and his eldest son, Hotaro. Construction began in the Taisho era and was completed around 1928 (Showa 3). The "Izumi Sakafune Stone," thought to be a related structure to the Sakafune Stone ruins, has been relocated within the villa grounds.
