The eye opening true life story of the black sharecropper in Alabama during the Reconstruction era. This landmark work of historical narrative is derived from hours and hours of recordings of Shaw dictating his amazing life story, revealing dark truths about life as a black man in the Deep South at this time. Some mild shelf wear around the edges of jacket including small tears, creases and some chipping. Corners and spine ends mildly bumped.
